🔩 Hardware you'll need:
• 2× M3 heat-set inserts
• 2× M3×6 countersunk screws
• up to 35× 1/4"-20 heat-set brass inserts
• 2× M4 threaded rods (88 mm)
• 1/4"-20 bolts for NATO rails
Assembly Instructions:
1. Hot shoe insert part
Requires 2× M3 (Length 3 mm or 3.5 mm) brass heat-set Threaded insert nuts

The cage and the Hot shoe insert part are joined with two M3×6 mm countersunk-head screws — https://ali.laoleaf.com/M3-Countersunk-Bolts
Two versions of the cage
- One-piece monolithic cage — for resin printing (ABS-Like)
- Two-part version for FDM printing. To join it you need M4 threaded rod, from which you cut 2 pieces 88 mm long.
They are screwed into the upper part of the cage and glued into the lower part, as shown in the video.
1/4" brass inserts
Up to 35 pcs can be installed in the cage — 1/4" brass insert, UNC 1/4-20 (length 6 mm) — https://ali.laoleaf.com/Brass-Insert-Nut-Inch
Between the threads there are standard Anti-twist 3 mm holes for ARRI pins — 1/4" brass inserts on a 15 mm grid
Works with SmallRig/Tilta accessories
Arca-Swiss base
The bottom of the cage has an Arca-Swiss profile — the quick release standard for mounting on all kinds of tripods ballheads and gimbals, no extra plate needed.
Underneath, the cage is fixed to the camera with a 1/4" screw from Arca-Swiss plates — https://ali.laoleaf.com/1-4-Tripod-Screws

In the archive you will also find an STL model of ARCA plates, which you can fix to the side of the cage for a vertical shooting setup.
NATO rails
The 1/4" brass inserts are on a 15 mm grid, and NATO rails of various lengths can be mounted in them.
The kit includes STL models of NATO rails in various lengths and mounting styles — 10× NATO rails, 35–80 mm. The best option for printing them is ABS filament.
To mount them you need these screws: 1/4"-20, 3/8" long — https://ali.laoleaf.com/1-4-20-Hex-Socket-Cap-Screws

Tips
- Even in PLA the assembly withstands more than 10× the loaded camera weight.
- Do not use filament with carbon fiber filling (CF) — it has lower interlayer adhesion, which is important in this model.
- Heat-set the 1/4" brass inserts. Set the iron to 230°C for PLA, 250°C for PETG / ABS.
Press straight down and stop about 0.5 mm short of the surface — then press the part against a flat cold surface. The insert levels itself perfectly flush. See the video for the exact motion.
