STL Files for 3D-Print Plant Propagation Vase / Test Tube Square Planter, PLA Mold for Concrete casting, 10 Test Tube Designs + Fusion 360 Source (Fully Customizable / Scalable)

💠 Design Features & Source Files

Fully Scalable: The entire design is completely scalable

Fusion 360 Source: Includes Fusion 360 project file, allowing you to easily adjust and customize all dimensions

💠 Frame Vase Options

Standard 3D-Printable Vase: A model designed to be fully 3D printed.
You can easily add weight to the piece by filling the inside with concrete or plaster. (To achieve this, set your slicer settings to 0 top layers and 0% infill).

Concrete Formwork (Single-Use Mold): A disposable frame designed specifically for casting a concrete vase. It must be printed in PLA and requires only 100 g of filament (~$1 USD). After pouring and curing the concrete, soften the frame using a Heat Gun or by pouring boiling water over it. Because PLA has a low softening temperature, you can effortlessly peel the mold away to extract finished concrete item.

💠 Test Tubes

Default Sizes: By default, the vases are available with hole for 20 and 25 mm test tubes. You can either purchase glass tubes separately https://ali.laoleaf.com/Test-Tube or 3D print your own using transparent PETG filament.

14 Tube Variations Included: straight and pear-shaped profiles (with a wider base)

Assembly Note: To place a pear-shaped tube into a concrete vase, you must insert it from the bottom and secure it in place using the provided semi-ring lock.

How to 3D-Print Transparent, Waterproof Test Tube

⚠️ This instruction is relevant only for printing in vase mode with a 0.8 mm nozzle

I am using a 0.8 nozzle on my Bambu A1 https://share.laoleaf.com/BambuHotend

⚙️ Step-by-Step Settings

  • To start, in the Others tab, under the Special mode section, enable Spiral vase and check the box for Smooth spiral.
  • Set the Layer height to 0.2 mm, and the Line width to 0.8 mm

  • To make the vase waterproof, you need to set Infill/wall overlap to 35%

  • If that will not be enough increase flow ratio in filament settings, note: if you increase the flow too much, excess plastic will accumulate on the nozzle tip and can leave a blob on the surface during the vase printing process

  • To make the bottom layer as transparent as possible, you need to set the infill pattern to Monotonic Line everywhere — also set the Fill angle to 0 so that all layers print in the same direction. It is also better to set the First layer line width to 1.2 mm.
  • Set Skirt loops to 2 to eliminate any printing defects on the first layer perimeter.

🌡️ Cooling & Speed Adjustment

The printing speed should be regulated in the Max volumetric speed section, turn on cooling to 80-100%, and adjust these three parameters along with the nozzle temperature. If the walls of the vase start to melt, it means there is insufficient layer cooling, and you need to either decrease the speed, decrease the nozzle temperature, or increase the cooling. All these parameters will vary depending on the diameter of the vase.
